Ana Cláudia Assis

Ana Cláudia Assis (Brazil) is a pianist specializing in contemporary music with an emphasis on the Latin American and Portuguese repertoire. She has performed numerous world premieres, many of them dedicated to her. He has regularly collaborated with importants names in contemporary classical music, as João Pedro Oliveria (PT), Bruce Reiprich (USA), Roberto Victorio (BR). He has participated in several collective CDs and recorded 4 solo albums: César Guerra-Peixe's Dodecaphonic Music for Piano (2015); Sonoridades: Contemporary Piano Pieces (2016); Vertentes: Brazilian Piano Music (2017), Pyramids of Crystal: Piano Works by João Pedro Oliveira (2019). Together with Portuguese cellist Miguel Rocha forms the Duo Sigma, dedicated mainly to Portuguese-Brazilian music. Ana Claudia is a professor at the University Federal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, where she has been teaching students from different countries. As a concert performer she has played on various stages in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Portugal, Belgium, France, Monaco, United States e Iceland.
